Still trying to get through June....

Seriously, I am only mid way through June at this point. Everything was just happening at once, and quite obviously, I could not keep up. The pictures speak for themselves.

Crazy gorgeous iris.

Thinking of you...

I feel so fortunate to have friends and family that actually read my garden drivel. Thank you to all of you for being so good to me.
I cannot remember if I have ever explained my pictures but when I take a picture, I try to illustrate how I see the flower. I am always amazed by the complexity of any given flower. It is actually difficult for me to take an overall picture of the garden...because that is not how I see it. These are all still June pictures.

I have no idea what this vine is...maybe a kiwi?

It is a jungle out there!

Alright, I am WAY behind. These pictures are from June. It is now August the 15th.
Yikes. What a summer. My garden has gone ape crazy. It is growing everywhere and taking over. No matter how much was pruned back...it is back and has doubled.
Lots of things have bloomed and some were huge surprises. The iris in the picture below really was a shock. The colour is bizarre but gorgeous. This is my first year with it and I ordered it online from Botanus. This is my second year ordering from them and I have been so pleased. No wasted money so far!

This is the start of a daisy. Nothing amazing but Liz and I moved them from my Aunt Dot's garden so  they are incredibly important for me.

I bought this plant on a fancy. It looks like an orchid. Gorgeous flower that is poorly represented by a lousy picture. Sorry.

Again, not a fabulous picture but this spiderwort came from my Auntie Em's garden. She was an incredible gardener. Out there at the grand age of umm... 90ish with a pitchfork!!! Oh boy. Hard to imagine.

Lovely.

Again, not the best picture but you can imagine, I hope.

Herbs and lavender.

This is my pink breast cancer awareness hydrangea. I have two of them. Oddly enough, one has an odour  but the other does not!

This picture just aggravates me. We bought the hilarious motion detector sprayer to protect my precious lilies from deer and a deluge of rain broke the stem. Arg. I did bring it inside and the flowers were fantabulous but I took no pictures. Figures.

This my friends, is the amazing oak leaf hydrangea. It is a superb addition to any garden and is an evergreen. How perfect is that?
